Rockridge Wabi-sabi
Our client Suzanne in Rockridge gave us full artistic freedom for this project. The garden was worked on in collaboration with Max, a local builder/salvage king who supplied all the old growth reclaimed redwood and vintage bricks.
We designed a garden with elements of a craftsman home, Japanese woodworking and the local Oakland reclaimed wabi-sabi flora rich aesthetic.
The project included a custom studio, pergolas, brick hardscaping, and a vegetable garden.
This was a great project in which we were able to showcase our love of Japanese joinery.
The reclaimed materials we selected had so much life to them to begin with and it was a pleasure to work with them to create interesting patterns, compositions and textures.
